CAGBA Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 12/10/2025

The Colored Angora Goat Breeders Association (CAGBA, we, our, us) operates the website https://cagba.org. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how long we retain it, and your rights regarding your personal data. As a nonprofit membership association, certain information is collected to administer memberships, support member services, and facilitate organizational duties.

Who We Are

Our website address is: https://cagba.org.
CAGBA is a member-directed U.S. nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting Colored Angora Goat breeders.

1. Membership Accounts & Information We Collect

When you create, renew, or update a membership, we collect and store the information necessary to maintain your account and verify your membership status. This may include:

  • Name
  • Username and email address
  • Mailing address and contact information
  • Membership level (Youth, Single, Couple, Lifetime, etc.)
  • Account role (Paid Member, Free Subscriber, Administrator, etc.)
  • Payment confirmation details (amount, date, transaction ID)
  • Membership start and expiration dates
  • Optional profile information you choose to share
  • IP address used during login, registration, or security-sensitive actions
  • Login activity used for fraud prevention and account security

When Your Membership Ends

When your paid membership expires:

  • Your account is automatically demoted to a free subscriber
  • You lose access to member-only pages, benefits, and services
  • Your account and information remain stored so you may renew at any time

We retain your information unless you request deletion, subject to any data that must be maintained for legal, administrative, or nonprofit compliance purposes.

This applies only to your website membership account, not animal registration records (see below).

2. Animal Registration Data (Handled by a Third-Party Registrar)

Animal registration services for Colored Angora Goats are managed by a third-party registrar, not by CAGBA. All registration data you provide—whether for new registrations, transfers, or updates—is submitted directly to this registrar.

CAGBA does not store, manage, modify, or control registration records.
Because the registry serves as a permanent historical and genealogical record:

  • Registration data cannot be deleted or altered by CAGBA
  • Account deletion on CAGBA.org does not remove or impact registry data
  • All registry-related privacy, correction, or removal requests must be directed to the registrar

3. Payment Processing (PayPal)

All membership payments are processed through PayPal.
When you complete a transaction, PayPal provides CAGBA with:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Payment amount and date
  • Transaction ID
  • Membership type purchased

CAGBA does not receive or store credit card numbers or bank details.
PayPal’s privacy policy governs their handling of your financial information:
https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full

We retain payment confirmation information for membership activation, accounting, nonprofit reporting, and audit requirements.

4. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the information shown in the comment form, as well as:

  • IP address
  • Browser user-agent string

This is used to help detect and reduce spam.

If you use Gravatar, an anonymized hash of your email may be sent to their service. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available at:

5. Media Uploads

If you upload images (such as farm or herd photos), avoid including EXIF GPS location data, as visitors may download and extract that information.

  • Spam and security detection services for protecting the website
  • Authorized board members or volunteers performing official duties

We do not sell or rent your personal information.
