Inspection Information

How do I get my goat inspected? Inspections are typically held at goat shows, if there is enough interest. Go to the Upcoming Goat and Fiber Events page for inspections in your area. If there are none listed, contact your regional director for information. Your regional director is listed on the CAGBA Officers page.

Before applying for inspection It is recommended you print a copy of the Breed Standard and inspect your goats before sending your Inspection Application and fee for an inspection (fees are non-refundable).Before the inspection, be sure to–
– trim your goats feet so the goat can stand properly,
– delouse your goats and keep the fleece clean and mat free, and
– have your goat in top condition as your goat will be photographed.Note: Nursing dams usually don’t look their best, so it’s advisable to wait until kids are weaned. Yearlings usually are in top condition and that is a good time to inspect the goat.

Fees The fee for inspection is $8.00 per goat for CAGBA members and $16 for non-CAGBA members. For membership information go to the CAGBA memberships.)
